Stories of Compassion, Love, and Kindness from the SC Family

From Suspended Coffees founder, John

One of my most memorable experiences was when my laptop broke, 6 months after I launched Suspended Coffees. I was unemployed and unable to buy a new one, so I made a post about it on the Facebook page. I wouldn’t be able to respond to the many requests I received on a daily basis. I also explained I would be unable to promote the movement actively every single day like I had for the first 6 months. The longest break I’ve taken from SC is a total of 2 days. I got hundreds of messages from people all over the world telling me to setup a crowd funding campaign, which I did. I set the goal at $800 and within 2 weeks of the campaign end, people had contributed over $1700. I received many messages telling me to bring my family away for a break as that was the least I deserved for everything I had done with SC.

I learnt so much from those few days. I learnt about empathy, compassion, and kindness. But most of all what I learnt was love. No matter how hard something may be, no matter how many people will tell you you’re wrong, you’re gonna fail, if you truly feel it from deep within, you really can achieve anything you set your heart on. Having people who believe in you truly is empowering. Hundreds of people all over the world showed me compassion and love even though they didn’t know me, never met me, how cool is that?  It was at that moment I realized SC was about more than the coffee
